There ARE some things that hold sentimental value for me. The last Christmas card my grandmother sent me before she died, my daughter's little knit baby hat from the hospital and a journal are among the items in the top drawer of my nightstand. I might not save these things in the event of a fire (I'm not THAT sentimental), but I do pull them out of the drawer and look at them every now and then.
