Alrighty. The site stats are showing quite a few visitors ending up here via the search string "Jesus+tomato". What's that about? Forsaking usual and customary appearances on sheet metal and tortillas, Jesus has moved on to fruit? And if that's the case, why some nasty tomato???

Extensive research of the mystery (read: personally Googling "Jesus+tomato") turned up no leads. If Jesus is messing around with tomatoes, the internets don't know about it. Yet.

I did, however, find tomatoesareevil.com, a website obviously by and for right-minded individuals.

Links!

Oh joy, a Britney Spears "pro-life monument". Is it my imagination, or does EVERY image of her somehow manage to come across as downright dirty? [UPDATE: Via celebrity-babies.com, "Britney is portrayed nude posed on all fours, with her back arched, tilted pelvis, clutching a bearskin rug on which she's kneeling, with Sean's head crowning. (Nevermind that Britney had a C-section!)" Um, real nice. I think I'll pass on checking out the rear view.]

Let's pretend that we're bigwig movie execs trying to come up with the next summer blockbuster. Hmm, we need a villian...but nothing too politically controversial... Hey, how about SNAKES! Snakes on a...on a...PLANE! Yes, that's IT, snakes and Samuel L. Jackson on a plane! Due in theaters sometime this summer. Until then, get the gist here.

Don't Date Him, Girl! An alternative to just writing about it on public restroom walls.

Things To Do When Life Has You Down

Rounding the corner from the hallway into the foyer, I spotted Sophie stretched out on the floor at the bottom of the steps. She was clutching her favorite teddy bear and staring at the ceiling. Hmm. "Baby?" I asked, concerned. "Do you want to go upstairs to bed?"

"No-o-o..." Heaving a great sigh, a sigh imbued with the deep-bone weariness of daily wrapping the world around her finger, Sophie explained her position. "I think I just want to lay here and pick my nose."

And really, who among us can't relate?

Mutant Ninja Fetuses...Well, No, Not Really

This article about a new theory of pregnancy as conflict between mother (i.e. hostbody) and fetus wasn't as Mortal Kombat-y as the title might suggest, but it discusses an interesting direction for the understanding of evolution and imprinted genes.

About
In short, the meandering thoughts of a proud mama, workaholic researcher, poodle owner, multi-cat slave, sometime artist and Southern girl. Want more details?

This site has been around in various incarnations since 1999; major redesign efforts seem to coincide with Big Personal Changes.
