Geez, the current slack-ass spam situation actually has me looking back fondly on the Nigerian scam emails. At least they put some effort into it. What are the odds that anyone would open an email from "Illegibility E. Muckrakes" with a subject line of "Sweet sir Amanda"?

Him: Did you hear what Canada went and did? Me: Um, no? Him: They made gay marriage legal. Me: They did! Good for them! Him: [harrumphing] Well, *I* think it's a vicious plot to steal all of our interior decorators and choreographers.

Note that the Flickr badge on the sidebar has been changed. Instead of showing the most recent photo posted to Flickr, it shows a changing collage pooling from everything I've posted. Clicking on the link won't necessarily take you to the most recent photo. And so, a poll...
Which do you prefer, dear readers: seeing the most recent photo uploaded to the Flickr photostream, or the Daily Zeitgeist?
Update: the Flickr badge has been switched back to the most recently uploaded photo!

Wow, July already and yesterday was our first beach trip this summer. (Not counting evening walks along the local Chesapeake Bay beaches. They don't merit wriggling into a bathing suit, so they're hardly considered a full-blown beach experience.) Not a single sand crab to be found, but there were plenty of other beachy good things. A couple of pictures from yesterday's outing to Rehoboth Beach, Delaware:

Sophie was afraid of the ocean and wasn't willing to even get her toes wet. Sean filled buckets with sea water for her to use in her sand castle building projects. We caught her drinking from them a couple of times. After it finally sunk in that THE OCEAN IS NOT FOR DRINKING AND DO YOU KNOW THAT FISH POO IN THAT WATER?!, she started demanding to have fish for lunch. Yeah, we thought it was pretty disturbing, too.

Delightful mommy-daughter moment or strategic placement of a toddler to conceal one's thighs? I'll let you come to your own conclusions.
